Presbytery Meeting (November 17, 2001)
The Reformation Presbyterian Church met in its
eleventh presbytery on
November 17th, 2001. Several items of business were approved.
1. The name of the denomination was changed from Reformation
Presbyterian Church to American Reformation Presbyterian Church. This
move was taken as a demonstration of our sister church status with the
Myanmar Reformation Presbyterian Church. Also, the Dallas Presbytery
of the ARPC was established for North Texas.
2. Guidelines were adopted for establishing fraternal relations with
other churches. See attached document
3. The proposal for joining the Alliance of Reformed Confessional
Presbyterian Churches (the Manassas Plan) was returned in the
negative. See attached document.
4. Resolved to seek closer ties with the American Presbyterian Church.
5. Resolved to seek closer ties with the Evangelical Presbyterian
Church of Australia.
6. Resolved to continue dialog with the Protestant Reformed Churches
of America.
