To: Tim Worrell

From: Richard Bacon

Subject: Re: Birgers' case

I forward this to you as information only. I have no confirmation of Bill's statement in the second paragraph, but find it quite interesting if true.

>Dick,

> Regarding his not attending his hearing, Larry gave as his stated reason

>to the Session that he had said all he intended to say in writing. He mentioned

>nothing about his receiving counsel. However, I know via our intern, who

>maintains contact with Larry, that Larry asserts in private that he will not

>attend due to his not recognizing our authority over him. Also, since Larry

>does nothing without consulting his gurus, I am certain that he has been

>counselled to refuse to answer the charges against him, for to do so would be a

>tacit admission that our Session is indeed a judicatory of the Church of the

>Lord Jesus Christ.

> Also via our intern, Larry says that the Edmonton Church has become

>covenanter, and that they, along with another like-minded church in your

>denomination, intend to bring charges against you and your Session for your

>failure to be yourselves covenanter. The report may or may not be true, but I

>just pass it along to you.
