GWS-8 is Gillespie's summation of Piscator's reasons.  I don't have a copy
of P's commentary on Exodus, which has never been translated out of Latin.
The moderator has seen a copy, the owner of which does read Latin (but not
on email). Post Dick Bacon privately for more info if you wish to pursue
the research further.
