We are essentially in agreement, though I think perhaps I will draw a line
faster than you in the use of Mosiac law. We shall see how it develops.

I disagree.  There is a multitude of *Scripture* that speaks to the
subject.  It is only when we artificially restrict our sources to
the "red letter" parts of the Bible that we have the difficulty of
"silence."

Still, if Chuck means that the Bible does not prescribe a republic as
opposed to a monarchy, I will agree that it does not do so with
absolute certainty.  But if Chuck's reply was intended to say that
there are no (or few) prescriptions for the magistrate in God's word,
then I will simply disagree for now.  I rather suspect that quite a
many will be adduced in the coming weeks.
